Advanced Monitoring System Tracks Zamzam Water Quality via 30,000 Annual Samples
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque continues its extensive operations to provide both chilled and unchilled Zamzam water throughout the Prophet's Mosque and its external courtyards. This integrated system features more than 10,000 Zamzam water dispensers, an average of 12,000 water bottles, and 60 drinking fountains, ensuring seamless and hygienic access for all visitors and worshippers.
To uphold the highest safety standards, the authority implements a rigorous, periodic sampling and analysis program across the entire distribution network. This comprehensive oversight verifies that the Zamzam water system meets the most stringent international health and technical requirements. On an annual basis, the program conducts approximately 1,640 tests on main reservoirs, 5,000 at filling points, and 740 from drinking fountains and dispensers. Furthermore, the authority analyzes 13,750 samples from water coolers, 1,850 from containers, 8,068 from transport tankers, and 750 from dedicated storage reservoirs.
These samples undergo continuous laboratory testing and sophisticated chemical and microbiological analysis to ensure the absolute safety and purity of the water provided. By maintaining this high-frequency monitoring cycle, the general authority ensures that the spiritual journey of every visitor to the Prophet's Mosque is supported by a world-class infrastructure of health and environmental care.
