
Arab League Affirms Commitment to Fighting Terrorism
The Arab League has reaffirmed its strong dedication to fighting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, emphasizing its commitment to the security and stability of member states, its solidarity with victims, and the need for focused efforts to build more just, equitable, and peaceful societies.
The reiteration of its position was made in a statement issued on the occasion the Arab day for raising awareness on the tragedies and sufferings of victims of terrorist acts in the Arab region, observed annually on April 22.
Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Legal Affairs Ambassador Mohamed Al Amin Weld Kik stated: "The Arab League commemorates the Arab day this year as part of its ongoing efforts to uphold the rights of victims of terrorism." He also noted that a joint Arab meeting, which will be held from May 26 to 28, will focus on evaluating legal frameworks and strategies for protecting and promoting the rights and needs of victims of terrorism.
