Saudi Arabia Calls for Political Solution in Sudan at Security Council Session
Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to Sudan's unity and sovereignty during a Security Council ministerial session in New York.
Alwasil condemned the Rapid Support Forces' recent drone attacks on civilian and humanitarian targets, including a military hospital and a World Food Program convoy, as grave violations of international law.
He highlighted the Kingdom's ongoing diplomatic efforts, specifically the Jeddah negotiations and coordination with the US and regional partners, to secure a comprehensive political solution.
To date, Saudi Arabia has provided $3.1 billion in aid to Sudan, underscoring its unwavering support for the Sudanese people during this crisis.
