Imam Turki bin Abdullah Nature Reserve Authority Affirms the Importance of Plant Health to Environmental Sustainability, Food Resources
The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority affirmed the importance of plant health and its pivotal role in protecting ecological balance and ensuring the sustainability of food resources, coinciding with the International Day of Plant Health, which sheds light on the importance of preserving plant cover as one of the fundamental pillars of natural life sustainability and the support of global food security.
The authority indicated that plants represent a fundamental element in the stability of ecosystems, given their role in improving air quality, combating desertification, and preserving biodiversity, in addition to their contribution to supporting the sustainability of natural resources and enhancing the capacity of natural environments to confront climatic and environmental challenges.
The authority also noted that plant protection is an integral part of a comprehensive system for the preservation of natural habitats and wildlife, pointing out that the development and conservation of plant cover constitute one of the main pillars of its environmental efforts, in pursuit of the targets of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Green Saudi Initiative, which aim to promote environmental sustainability and improve quality of life.
