Arab Parliament Speaker Condemns Bombing of Baptist Hospital in Gaza

Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi strongly condemned what he described as a heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces in directly targeting the Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, rendering it entirely out of service.
Al Yamahi said the attack constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, particularly international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit the targeting of medical facilities and civilian infrastructure.
In a statement issued Monday, the speaker stressed that the bombing of the hospital marks yet another episode in a series of systematic crimes perpetrated by the occupying forces against the Palestinian people. He said the deliberate targeting of hospitals and civilian institutions—considered protected humanitarian zones—crosses all red lines.
He warned of the grave consequences of the continued international silence, which, he said, has effectively given Israel the green light to pursue what he called a "war of extermination." This war, ongoing for more than 19 months, has resulted in over 170,000 casualties, including both martyrs and the wounded, as well as thousands still missing. He described the campaign as part of a systematic effort to depopulate Palestinian territories and erase Palestinian identity.
He called on the international community—particularly the United Nations Security Council, the World Health Organization, and regional and international parliamentary bodies—to assume their legal, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities. He urged immediate intervention to halt what he described as violations and atrocities committed against innocent civilians, including women and children.
Al Yamahi also called for the urgent provision of international protection for Palestinian civilians and medical facilities in the Gaza Strip.
He reaffirmed the Arab Parliament's full support for the Palestinian people in their struggle to attain their legitimate rights.
