NCVC Launches Seed Campaign to Rehabilitate 10,398 Hectares of Rangelands in Madinah Region

The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) branch in Madinah has launched a campaign to rehabilitate natural rangelands, dispersing 18,719 kilograms of seeds over 10,398 hectares, timed to coincide with rainfall, as part of the 2026 National Greening Season.
In Al-Hanakiyah Governorate, the campaign covers 8,836 hectares of the King Abdulaziz Hima Reserve with 15,906 kilograms of seeds and 266 hectares of Al-Shaqran rangeland with 480 kilograms. In Badr Governorate, 1,719 kilograms of seeds have been dispersed over 955 hectares of Al-Sumaydah rangeland.
The NCVC uses modern machinery to disperse seeds of native wild and forage plants to restore degraded land, improve vegetation cover, and support the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative.
