Jeddah Farmers Market Showcases Diversity of Saudi Dates, Supports Local Producers

Azka Farmer's Market at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah offers a seasonal experience celebrating Saudi dates and their diversity, featuring a selection of local varieties from across the Kingdom that reflects the richness of national agricultural production and supports local farmers and producers.

 The current edition, which runs through September 5 as part of Art Jameel's community programs and under the Hayy Markets initiative, brings together more than 80 farmers, producers, and local entities, including more than 30 farms. They offer dates, fruits, vegetables, herbs, honey, coffee, and dairy products, along with a range of organic and seasonal products.

 Dates take center stage in this edition alongside other seasonal products, offering visitors an experience that connects them with local farm produce, highlights the diversity and quality of agricultural products, supports producers, and promotes national products.

 The market allows visitors to engage with farmers and entrepreneurs and learn about their experiences in sustainable agriculture and local food production. It also features meetings and panel discussions with specialists in the agricultural, commercial, and industrial sectors, while dates remain a central focus of this edition, reflecting the diversity of locally grown produce.

 The market is accompanied by a program of activities and experiences across Hayy Arts, Hayy Makers, Jameel Library, Hayy Studios, and the community garden. The program includes children's activities, reading and storytelling sessions, exhibitions, art workshops, and experiences for the whole family.
