The Governor of Madinah Region Inaugurates the Modern Facilities of the Main Headquarters of the International Museum of the Prophet’s Biography

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Madinah Region and Chairman of the Region Development Authority, inaugurated the “Taybah: Lights and Heritage” Pavilion, the “Ithaf” Digital Platform, and the scientific encyclopedias on the Prophet’s biography and the Prophet’s Mosque at the International Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization. The event took place in the presence of His Excellency the Secretary General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Board of Museums of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa.

During his visit to the museum, His Royal Highness toured the “Taybah: Lights and Heritage” Pavilion, which offers a documented presentation of the radiant city of Madinah through more than twenty diverse sections. These sections highlight the most significant historical, civilizational, and social landmarks of Madinah during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. The pavilion features a panoramic depiction of the Prophet’s Chamber, a simulation of the construction of the Prophet’s Mosque, a tent dedicated to prophetic medicine, and a display of the Prophet’s daily schedule — all presented through an immersive interactive experience that allows visitors to feel as if they are living the events of the Prophet’s noble life.

His Royal Highness also received a briefing on the “Ithaf” Digital Platform, which supports the digital transformation efforts. This interactive platform allows visitors to explore the Prophet’s biography through virtual tours and provides access to an authentic scientific library and encyclopedic resources related to the Holy Qur’an and the noble Sunnah. The platform offers over 350 authored and translated works in major world languages and keeps visitors updated with the latest news about the museums and relevant initiatives, thereby promoting the Prophet’s biography using innovative, modern means.

Prince Salman bin Sultan further visited the pavilion highlighting the “Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Efforts in Serving the Holy Qur’an, the Noble Sunnah, the Two Holy Mosques, and the Guests of Allah.” He reviewed the Kingdom’s outstanding contributions and blessed efforts to emphasize the noble message of Islam — a message of mercy to all worlds. The project underscores Saudi Arabia’s rightful and leading role in serving the Qur’an and Sunnah, thanks to the great care it has received under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman — may Allah preserve them.

It is worth noting that the recent developments at the International Museum of the Prophet’s Biography — overseen by the Muslim World League — are the result of collaboration with the Emirate of the Madinah Region and the Region Development Authority, aiming to establish a civilizational project that enriches the experience of the pilgrims and visitors to the holy city of Madinah.
