Al-Daha Dance Revives Northern Borders Heritage during Eid Al-Fitr Celebrations
The Al-Daha performance captivated audiences during Eid Al-Fitr events in Northern Borders Region. Organized by the regional municipality, the performance revived a prominent local folk tradition and drew large crowds.
Al-Daha troupes delivered coordinated group chanting and enthusiastic calls that reflected northern heritage and reinforced the values of pride and courage. The program also included Saudi Ardah dance, magic shows, dance performances, and musical acts.
The Al-Daha is an ancient folk art associated with enthusiasm and collective rhythm. In the past, it was performed during wars to instill fear in enemies or to celebrate victory, relying on unified chants delivered in aligned rows with a central poet whose verses are repeated in a structured, interactive manner.
The events featured integrated recreational and service areas for visitors, including family and children’s activities, in line with the municipality’s efforts to promote cultural heritage and enhance the Eid experience.
