CST and Environment Fund Launch Joint Collaboration Initiatives to Advance Environmental Sustainability
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) and the Environment Fund have launched collaboration initiatives to advance environmental sustainability, under a memorandum of understanding between the two parties, during LEAP 2026. The initiatives aim to promote eco-responsible practices across the communications, space, and technology sectors, harness technology to support environmental efforts across various sectors, and foster innovation and investment in technical solutions that deliver a positive environmental impact.
The initiatives include programs to support innovation and entrepreneurship in envirotech, training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions on environmental digital sustainability, incentives and grants to fund environmental technology programs in the nonprofit sector, as well as programs to support investment and the adoption of eco-friendly technology standards in the private sector.
The initiatives seek to encourage the adoption of green practices, support and foster innovation and inventions in eco-friendly technologies, and develop environmental protection plans and initiatives across the Kingdom. They also include joint studies and research aimed at expanding the use of emerging technologies to deliver a positive environmental impact.
These initiatives are part of CST's ongoing efforts to promote sustainability in its related sectors, utilize modern technology to serve the environment, and foster innovation and investment. Along with promoting the adoption of eco-friendly technical practices to strengthen the digital sectors' contribution to achieving the Kingdom's sustainability goals and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
