Imam Turki Royal Reserve Grazing Program Boosts Local Communities, Sustainability
The second edition of the seasonal grazing program, an initiative by the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority hosted in the Shamal Reserve for Sustainable Hunting, has yielded impressive results by supporting over 290 local community members and optimizing the utilization of natural resources with more than 33,250 livestock participating.
The authority reported that the program registered over 17,850 camels, more than 14,350 sheep, and over 1,050 goats. These figures highlight the increasing demand from livestock breeders and the significant economic and social opportunities the program provides for the local community.
The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve spans an impressive 91,500 square kilometers, making it one of the Kingdom's largest royal reserves. Its diverse terrain and rich biodiversity position it as a leading example of both natural resource protection and balancing environmental preservation with social development.
