AlUla Showcases Sustainable Biodiversity Model on World Biodiversity Day

Marking World Biodiversity Day under the theme "Acting Locally for Global Impact," the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) has highlighted its comprehensive conservation model that successfully integrates local development with long-term ecological balance.

 To restore northwestern Saudi Arabia's unique natural heritage, RCU continues to implement specialized environmental programs dedicated to expanding nature reserves, rehabilitating wildlife habitats, and restoring native vegetation.

 A cornerstone of these sustainability efforts, which directly support Saudi Vision 2030, includes active, targeted breeding and reintroduction initiatives for the critically endangered Arabian leopard, a key apex predator vital to regulating the region's food chain and protecting the delicate desert ecosystems for future generations.
